Weekly Poll Oct 26

October 26, 2019 by Nora 8 Comments

We skipped a poll last week because I was traveling, but here’s a new one for this week. We’re talking about Christmas romances!

Let’s talk about the results of the last poll first because they were not what I was expecting. The question was: “Do you prefer series or stand alones?” I had expected an overwhelming preference for series, but in fact, the majority said they really didn’t care as long as the book was awesome. Noted.

Only a small percentage said they preferred stand alones. Also interesting.

This week’s question is: “How do you feel about Christmas/Holiday themed romances?” Are they something you look forward to, something that is okay, or are you meh about them? Vote and let me know!

Have to admit I don’t spend all if December reading Christmas romance, but I have a few favourites that I can re-read at any time of year (and one Thanksgiving one too)

I enjoy books where the characters celebrate Yule.

I will read Holiday themes all year. I really enjoy when they have unique family traditions of are set in other countries.

Hallmark and Lifetime Channels movie watcher here, and they just started the 24/7 showings of Christmas movies. I do Christmas music November 1 to January 1. Throughout the year I do mini marathons. I love Christmas and all things related!

Since I’m not christian, the holiday doesn’t hold any significance for me. That means Christmas themed books aren’t particularly appealing to me, unless the story is itself compelling. I read ones written by authors I enjoy, but I definitely don’t anticipate their release more than any other.
