Welcome to this week’s hot new releases, 99c deals, and freebies in gay romance! We have a solid list this week with some exciting new releases (including Shipping the Captain, woot!), wonderful 99c deals, and some cool freebies.
I have recommendations for some books that I’ve read or are enthusiastic about, and others that are lesser or unknown to me, we’ll list with just the blurb. Hope this makes everyone happy!
All deals are valid as of posting in the US and most of the time the UK, but they may not be valid later or in all Amazon stores. Please check the price before buying!

NEW RELEASES
Shipping the Captain – Nora Phoenix
Brantley Phipps doesn’t want a boyfriend. In his line of work, relationships are impossible. All he wants is one night of fun before he starts his ten-week rotation as assistant hotel director on a cruise ship.
He scores the jackpot with a hot older guy who hits all his yes, please buttons and who wants the same thing as him. Their chemistry is explosive, hot damn. Talk about a night to remember. That should last him a while…
Until he discovers that his one-night stand is none other than the legendary Captain Silver Fox aka his boss. Oops.
Still, it shouldn’t be an issue because Brantley doesn’t do coworkers and Fox is known for being strict as hell about not dating employees. That should make things easy, if not for that pesky attraction that keeps flaring up whenever they’re in the same room. What the hell do they have to do to get rid of that?
Surely, Brantley can’t be shipping the captain, can he?
Shipping the Captain has an age gap, yummy steamy scenes, a Caribbean setting on a cruise ship, and a one-night stand that turns into an embarrassing case of falling for the boss.
It’s the sixth book in the Valentine’s Inc. Cruises series but can be read as a complete standalone. The only connection in the series is the shared premise of the Valentine’s Inc. cruise.
Your Kind Of Man – JJ Harper
Jem Hayes has a penchant for lacy underwear and makeup.
Nate Allinson likes pretty men and spanking, preferably at the same time.
He doesn’t want a man for more than a scene.
He doesn’t want a warm body for more than one night.
He doesn’t want “more.”
Until Jem.
With his slim body and beautiful face, Jem pushes every one of Nate’s buttons.
After one night of passion and an empty bed in the morning, Nate knows Jem is the one.
Running out was the dumbest thing Jem could have done. He felt the connection but bolted all the same.
Fate brings them back together, but their relationship is put to the test when Jem’s ex returns.
Can Nate’s love heal Jem from his abusive past?
Your Kind Of Man is an MM romance and book two in the HeavyLoad! Series. It contains a loving daddy, gender-fluid dressing, and some spanking.
The book can be read as a standalone but will be enhanced by reading book #1 My Kind of Man.
Warning: This book contains a small amount of violence.
Luck of the Ship – Michele Notaro
“You won! I have two tickets for the Valentine’s Inc. Singles Cruise in August. All expenses paid for you and a friend.”
Elio~
When I get a call about winning a cruise, at first I think it’s a scam, but when they start sending me the info—and the tickets—I realize it’s the real deal. My best friend was supposed to go with me, but when he dropped out at the last minute, I don’t want to go alone. Somehow he convinces me to call Lamar, the guy I went on one date with a few months ago and haven’t been able to get out of my head. Lamar agrees to go, and now I’m panicking because the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen is going with me… Me, the nerdy, dorky guy that’s so nervous I can hardly speak when I’m around him.
Lamar~
I’ve been working for Valentine’s Inc. for a while now, so I’ve been on a ton of dates. So many men, I usually forget them after a few days, and none that I want to date for real. But then there’s Elio. It’s been months, and the sweet, shy guy never called me, but I still find myself thinking about him. And then he contacts me, asking me to go on a cruise, and I jump at the opportunity. For one thing, I’ve never been able to travel, so I want the experience; for another, it’s Elio. I’ve been drawn to him since we met, and now I’ll have a whole week where he won’t be able to run from me again.
Maybe with a little luck, Elio and Lamar will find the one thing they didn’t know they needed: love.
Luck of the Ship is a standalone contemporary romance following Elio and Lamar (Dakota’s best friend from Color My Kiss). It is intended for adults 18+.
In the Name of the Father – Morticia Knight
Recommendation: I really liked other books I read from this author, and this blurb sounds super interesting. Well, let’s be honest, it had me at “daddy and boy”, haha.
I was living a lie. I couldn’t be caught in my deception, or my family and friends would abandon me. But my fears became reality and I was cast away as if I were garbage. Then this man, a stranger, took me home and showed me that love can take on many forms, that I’m not filled with sin or doomed to go to hell because I’m gay. He showed me that I’m not broken. I don’t need to be fixed. What I need is to be nurtured and cared for.
This man showed me that it’s okay to be his boy and to call him Daddy…
Seth was a good Christian son raised in a very conservative church.
He learned early on that the world is evil and filled with sinners—but the most horrible thing you can be is gay. When his shame is discovered, he’s shipped off to a special camp that fixes deviants like him. Years have passed since then, yet he still runs from himself every day.
Malcolm was a good Daddy for almost ten years before his boy died.
No longer daring to be too close with another man again, he’s avoided clubs and old friends that remind him of a life filled with a joy he can no longer have. Unable to find a purpose in his lonely existence, he spends night after night in a dive bar at the edge of town. However, witnessing a scared young man being harassed by two bullies jolts him out of his misery.
No one messes with someone vulnerable and helpless on his watch…
Note: In the Name of the Father is a full-length novel with angst and a slow burn romance between an older daddy and younger boy. You can expect lots of hurt/comfort, a daddy with some kinky tricks up his sleeve and a sweet HEA.
Possible triggers: Extreme past abuse involving both physical and emotional trauma.

White Noise – Ann Grech
Bisexual sports star, Reef Reid, is back in action on the slopes with his new boyfriend, paramedic, Ford Wallace by his side. Taking the next step in their relationship was supposed to be easy, but fate has other plans. Will they be able to hold out against the forces trying to tear them apart?
Paramedic and mountain rescuer, Stratford ‘Ford’ Wallace, fell hard and fast for pro-snowboarder, Reef Reid. For a ‘straight’ guy, falling in love with a dude was unexpected, but his attraction to Reef is undeniable. Reef is smashing his pre-season training at Fernie, the idyllic Canadian snow resort, getting wicked air and landing what could be season-winning jumps. What’s even better is that his man is with him. Going home to Ford every night is what Reef always dreamed of—his very own happily ever after.
Knowing they’re ready, they take the next step in their relationship—meeting the parents. But when tragedy strikes on the slopes, can Ford push through the painful memories and be what Reef needs?
Ford will sacrifice himself, literally putting both his heart and his life on the line, to protect his man. But will it all be for nothing when Reef is presented with an offer that’s too good to refuse?
White Noise is book two in Ann Grech’s international hit male/male romance series, Unexpected. It can be read as a standalone, but it’s recommended that you read Whiteout (available for free and listed below)first.
Whitewash – Ann Grech
Reef and Ford are back, and they’re playing for keeps. For their forever. It’s hard; harder than they ever imagined. But they’re strong. And even though falling for each other was unexpected, they’ll do whatever it takes to be together, including overcoming any obstacles in their path.
Pro snowboarder, Reef Reed, is on the precipice. His chance of winning the world championship is within reach. But he’s navigating a treacherous path, one which is full of incredible highs and soul-crushing lows. Crippling stress, insurmountable distances between him and his boyfriend, jealousy, and illness threaten everything he’s worked for. His relationship with Ford is tested in ways Reef couldn’t have fathomed.
Ford Wallace will do anything within his power to help his man soar high and achieve his dreams. But the season has been hard on both of them; watching all Reef’s hard work unravel from afar is unbearable for the healer at heart. So he fights—they both do—for their happiness and love, and they emerge on the other side stronger than ever before.
Whitewash is book 3 in Ann Grech’s international hit male/male romance trilogy, Unexpected. It can be read as a standalone, but it’s recommended that you’ve read Whiteout (available for free and listed below) and White Noise (also on sale for 99c and listed above) first. You’ll fall for these two men who are absolutely made for each other.
FREEBIES
Whiteout – Ann Grech
Recommendation: this is book one in a three book series, but book two and three are on sale for 99c.
The closeted sports star and a straight paramedic, the heli-skiing trip that traps the two men on a mountain and a game of twenty questions. What could go wrong? Or will it be the moment they get all they’ve ever wanted? In discovering their bisexuality, will Reef and Ford be brave enough to reach for each other?
Pro-snowboarder, Reef Reid, is at the peak of his career. He has it all. Except the one thing he desperately wants: a lover, the white picket fence and his happily ever after. Disillusioned and exhausted, he flees to a tropical paradise to defrost.
But a ticketing mishap lands him in the ski village of Queenstown, New Zealand.
Stratford ‘Ford’ Wallace loves the ladies, but rarely sticks around longer than a night. Falling for a man wasn’t on the cards, but everything he knows is flipped on its head when the enigmatic Reef Reid literally drops out of the sky.
When a whiteout traps them on a mountaintop neither expects sparks to ignite. They’re unable to resist each other, but will they give into temptation? Or will the avalanche that tears through the mountain end them?
Whiteout is book one in Ann Grech’s international hit male/male romance series, Unexpected. Books 2 and 3 continue Reef and Ford’s story through the highs and lows of the pro-snowboarding circuit. You’ll fall in love, want to slap a certain someone or two and swoon over these two men who are made for each other.

Chasing Fate – J.P. James
Chris:
I’ve always wanted to be a writer covering LGBTQ+ affairs. As a member of the queer community, our issues don’t get enough press and I see it as my job to shine a light on the many amazing things we’ve achieved. To help me out, my dad sets me up with an internship at his best friend’s company, which is a place that puts out a weekly newsmagazine. It’s perfect because I can use this opportunity to write about gay-centric issues to my heart’s content. But the problem is that the boss doesn’t necessarily see it that way. Dane, my dad’s friend, is handsome, forbidding, and dare I say it? A little scary. He’s used to giving orders, taking risks, and making money hand over fist. Despite being gay himself, he doesn’t want me to use his paper as a platform for our community because he says quote-unquote: “It won’t sell.” Since when has everything become about money? Have we, as a society, lost our moral compass? Even more important, how can I change his mind? On the one hand, sparks fly whenever Dane and I clash. But on the other, can I really be with a man who won’t stand up for the cause closest to my heart?
Dane:
I took on Chris as an intern as a favor to my oldest friend. After Nick begged, cajoled, and pleaded, I agreed on a three-month summer internship for his son. With an emphasis on temporary. Chris and I weren’t even supposed to cross paths because as the boss, I don’t really interact with newbie reporters. Yet the moment he walked into my office, I knew that Chris was going to be trouble. The young man is lively, forceful, and hell-bent on writing stories that highlight the achievements of the gay community. Of course I support him, at least on some level. After all, I’m a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, and proud of the discrimination we’ve overcome, not to mention the acceptance we’ve achieved. As a result, I have nothing against his ideas per se, except that they won’t sell very many papers. Does that make sense? As a player in capitalist society, we have to market our wares in order to survive. But why can’t Chris understand my point of view? Sure, everyone knows that the publishing industry is in jeopardy and facing a sea change in terms of how we do business. But how can I make the young man see this? How can I help him understand that the world is more complicated than it appears, and that sometimes, we work for many masters and wear many hats simultaneously? Most importantly, how can I convince Chris that I’m worthy of his love when his commitment to LGBTQ causes may outweigh his affection for me? Find out in Chasing Fate.
This is a full-length MM novel with no cliffhangers and a happily ever after.
