Weekly Gay Romance Deals and New Releases (August 24)

Welcome to this week’s hot new releases, 99c deals, and freebies in gay romance!  It’s a shorter list this week but it has some wonderful books…so get ready to grow those TBR lists!

I have recommendations for some books that I’ve read or are enthusiastic about, and others that are lesser or unknown to me, we’ll list with just the blurb. Hope this makes everyone happy!

All deals are valid as of posting in the US and most of the time the UK, but they may not be valid later or in all Amazon stores. Please check the price before buying!

This is not a paid list or ads, but simply deals I’ve found and books I’m excited about reading, so all personal recommendations from me. If you have a book you’d like to see listed, you can submit it, but that’s not a guarantee I’ll list it.

A man to change for.

* Broken News is a standalone M/M romance featuring age gap, detailed adult content, violence, and hurt/comfort.

Make Me Trust You – Angel Knots

Welcome to Preston College. A top ranked biology program? Check. Division One football? Check. A shy genius and a hot jock both stuck on campus for the summer? Now things are heating up…

EMMETT
Last year, the cutting edge research project my biology professor tapped me for confirmed that fated mates are real… and despite the odds (and the fact that we’re all members of a celibacy club!!) two of my roommates met theirs.

I met someone last year, too. He was an alpha. He was a football player. He was gorgeous and funny and really, really nice. Besides science, he was basically the only thing I could think about all year long. But alphas don’t notice me and sports just confuse me, so now that Bryce Connors doesn’t need me to tutor him anymore, I’ll probably never see him again.

Too bad it will probably take longer than that to stop wishing I could…

BRYCE
Nineteen years ago, my dad gave up his pro football career to raise me, and ever since the first time he handed me a ball I’ve only had one priority: realizing the dreams he never had a chance to. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not just gonna make it for him. I most definitely love football, too. In fact, up until last year, I would’ve said that outside of my dad, it was the only thing I loved.

And okay, all right, maybe “love” is too big of a word for my new #1 priority, the crazy-smart omega who saved my scholarship last year, Emmett Christianson… but then again, the way I haven’t been able to get him off my mind? Maybe it’s not.

That’s why, when I head back to campus for summer workouts, I’ve got a plan…

Make Me Trust You is the third book in the Omega Celibacy Club series, a contemporary omegaverse world where the only thing stronger than an alpha’s will is his desire to keep his omega happy, and where even omegas who aren’t expecting a fated mate of their own sometimes still find them.

Kept In the Dark – Charlie Cochet

Former Army Ranger turned government assassin Álvaro Montero and CIA Officer Caiden Cardosa crossed paths two years ago in Vienna, where their encounter ended less than amicably—despite the explosive sexual chemistry between them.

Now Caiden is riding a desk at Langley after his cover is blown. And Álvaro—who was “killed”—has a new identity and purpose as Delta/D, an operative for the Locke and Keyes Agency, under the leadership of the mysterious Alpha Orion.

When D and Caiden team up in a deadly black ops mission, the urge to kill each other will have to take a back seat to the desire for revenge against the man who betrayed them both. Surviving the mission won’t be easy. Resisting the passion between them—that might be impossible in Kept in the Dark.

Ship Happens – Pandora Pine

Photographer Upton Sanders is a proverbial third wheel. Still single after his best friend met the love of his life on the Valentine’s Inc. dating app, Upton assumes he’ll be alone forever. Everything changes when his friends surprise him with a week-long singles cruise.

Travel agent Walsh Dunne has never left the state of North Carolina. With the ink on his hospitality degree still wet, he embarks on the S.S. Neptune to learn about the cruise industry and the ship’s exotic ports of call. It isn’t until a chance encounter with Upton that Walsh learns this is no ordinary cruise.

Excited to attend the Ship Happens dating events, Upton has zero luck meeting the man of his dreams. The one man he is forever running into, Walsh, keeps rescuing him from sticky situations. Finished with the vain men he’s met so far, Upton and Walsh team up to explore the islands.

Sparks fly between the men, making them think a relationship in the real world is possible. Back on shore, both men are excited about the future, until an emergency calls Walsh back home.

Can the star-crossed lovers find a way back to each other? Or will their love go down with the ship? Find out in Ship Happens.

Battle Ship – Brittany Cournoyer

Dawson Hoshaw lives by one motto—work hard, play harder. As the owner of Blue Lotus, a tattoo and piercing shop, he’s got the first part covered. The second part, he accomplishes through meaningless hookups and no-strings-attached encounters. It’s safer this way, with no risk of getting his heart broken again. But when his best friend, Peyton, enters him in a contest—and wins—Dawson finds himself the recipient of an all-expenses paid singles cruise around New Zealand, courtesy of Valentine’s Inc.

As long as he can remember, Stephen Kincaid has known it’s his duty to take over his family’s chain of men’s clothing stores. The closer his father grows to retirement, the more responsibility Steven assumes. Running multiple businesses and living up to expectations doesn’t leave him with much time for dating, and he can’t remember the last time he took a vacation. So when he wins a contest he didn’t even enter, he can’t pass up the opportunity to see Australia before returning to his humdrum life.

When a mix-up forces Dawson and Steven to share a cabin, their dream vacation turns into a nightmare. It wouldn’t be so bad if they could escape each other during the day, but it’s hard not to run into one another. And the more time they spend together, the more they find they don’t want to stay away. After a night of passion, Stephen and Dawson can’t help giving in to the growing feelings between them. But how can they make this vacation fling work once they go back to the real world?

Battle Ship is a Valentine’s Inc. novella, but you will see familiar faces with this Forever in Middlebury Crossover. At 35,00 words, it can be read as a standalone and is intended for adults 18 and over.

Resonance – Neve Wilder

I gave the rumor mill fodder for a lifetime the day I walked away from a lucrative music career without explanation.

People can talk all they like; my record stores are my lifeblood now, and I’m devoted solely to keeping them afloat in the digital age. There’s just one little thing distracting me: an earth-dwelling sunbeam named Owen Harper. I don’t know what I was thinking when I hired him. In fact, maybe I wasn’t thinking at all.

Quirky and excitable, he’s a walking, talking danger to fragile objects. His energy alone could power a small country. That’s never been my style. Hell, I was probably cutting my first album while he was cutting teeth. He wants a music career, and I’m done with all that. We couldn’t be on more opposite paths.

He’s other things, too, though. Things that keep me up late at night. Things that make me forget I’m supposed to be simplifying.

And damn does he love to push my buttons.

Now I’m struggling to resist his pull, drowning in the memory of his skin under my hands, his mouth on mine. His laugh.

When a long shadow from my past comes calling with an offer I’d be stupid to refuse, there’s more on the line than the survival of the shops I’ve dedicated the last fifteen years of my life to.

Because those fragile objects I mentioned earlier? One of them might well be my heart.

Resonance is the second book in the Rhythm of Love series but can be read on its own. It’s a steamy slow burn bisexual age-gap, boss/employee romance with lots of banter and two obstinate heroes who really, really don’t want to want the very thing they both need.

99c DEALS

Cutie and the Beast – E.J. Russell

Book one in the new Fae Out of Water series

Temp worker David Evans has been dreaming of Dr. Alun Kendrick ever since that one transcription job for him, because holy cats, that voice. Swoon. So when his agency offers him a position as Dr. Kendrick’s temporary office manager, David neglects to mention that he’s been permanently banished from offices. Because, forgiveness? Way easier than permission.

Alun Kendrick, former Queen’s Champion of Faerie’s Seelie Court, takes his job as a psychologist for Portland’s supernatural population extremely seriously. Secrecy is paramount: no non-supe can know of their existence. So when a gods-bedamned human shows up to replace his office manager, he intends to send the man packing. It shouldn’t be difficult — in the two hundred years since he was cursed, no human has ever failed to run screaming from his hideous face.

But cheeky David isn’t intimidated, and despite himself, Alun is drawn to David in a way that can only spell disaster: when fae consort with humans, it never ends well. And if the human has secrets of his own? The disaster might be greater than either of them could ever imagine in Cutie and the Beast.

Bad Idea – Max Walker

Gabriel ‘Fox’ Morrison is starting a brand new chapter in his life. He spent years drifting after his time in the military and finally felt ready to settle in one spot. This leads him to becoming the head detective of the recently opened Stonewall Investigations in Miami. His first case is one that not only hits close to home, but the result could have huge repercussions for more than just him and his client.

It’s a case so big, he decides to enlist some help.

Jonah Brightly is ending a huge chapter of his life. Him and his girlfriend have zero spark and his professional career is in shambles after an on-work incident leaves him with more than a physical scar. A new job as a private detective would be a lifeline he so badly needed.

Both of them are rocked by an unexplainable force, and both are left questioning everything they’ve known in its wake. As they form a bond through working together on the case, they learn there’s much more that brings them together than holds them apart. But can they keep fanning the flames of their newfound passion or will they be consumed by the growing fire?

Bad Idea is the first book in the Stonewall Investigations- Miami series. It’s a full-length, steamy gay romance novel.

The Magpie Lord – KJ Charles

Recommendation: I love me some regency romance and this one is off the charts hot, sexy, and with a solid dash of suspense.

A lord in danger. A magician in turmoil. A snowball in hell.

Exiled to China for twenty years, Lucien Vaudrey never planned to return to England. But with the mysterious deaths of his father and brother, it seems the new Lord Crane has inherited an earldom. He’s also inherited his family’s enemies. He needs magical assistance, fast. He doesn’t expect it to turn up angry.

Magician Stephen Day has good reason to hate Crane’s family. Unfortunately, it’s his job to deal with supernatural threats. Besides, the earl is unlike any aristocrat he’s ever met, with the tattoos, the attitude… and the way Crane seems determined to get him into bed. That’s definitely unusual.

Soon Stephen is falling hard for the worst possible man, at the worst possible time. But Crane’s dangerous appeal isn’t the only thing rendering Stephen powerless. Evil pervades the house, a web of plots is closing round Crane, and if Stephen can’t find a way through it—they’re both going to die in The Magpie Lord.

Lyon Road Vets Box Set – Sue Brown

Peter and Evan, Will and Lawrence, Jesse and Dan, friends and neighbours with one thing in common; the love of their dogs. As Peter mourns the loss of Harry, Evan brings a lively puppy into their lives, who takes over their home and hearts. Will’s young beagle, Bob, hasn’t met a trainer he can’t break. Is Lawrence the exception? Dan walks away from Jesse after too many broken promises. Will Jesse’s puppy, Norman, manage to bring them back together? Get the Lyon Road Vets Box Set and find out!

The Glass House – Suki Fleet

At 17 Sasha is a little lost and a lot lonely. He craves friendship but his self-destructive tendencies cause problems and he pushes people away.

Every day he collects glass for the sculptures he makes and every day he dies a little more inside. Until he meets Thomas.
Thomas is shy but sure of himself in a way Sasha doesn’t understand. He makes it his mission to prove to Sasha that everyone deserves to be loved, and doesn’t give up even when Sasha hurts him.

Their friendship becomes more than Sasha ever thought possible. And when Sasha is forced to confront his past he realizes that accepting he is worthy of the love Thomas gives him is the only way to obliterate the darkness in Glass House.

Because Faery Godmonster – Sionnach Wintergreen

Recommendation: I’ve never heard of this author or this series, but a romantic comedy with a faery godmonster sounds delightful, haha.

How can they get together with a monster in their way?

The warrior-priest. Gossamer wants true love. But his faery godmonster, a gigantic, winged, two-headed beast named Puff-puff, is determined to keep him “safe”–even from a broken heart.

The necromancer. Pox is a sexy fugitive. An exiled aristocrat, his ego is as big as a dragon’s maw. He has no time for love. Still, that brawny Gossamer might make a fine manservant.

**Because Faery Godmonster is a gay romantic comedy and contains four graphic, sexually explicit scenes and is intended for adults only.
(It also contains crude humor, a love story, and a big scary monster.)

This collector’s edition features a brand new cover, improved formatting, and the first chapter of the second book in the Chainmail and Velvet series!

FREEBIES

From Bodyguard To Boyfriend – Wyatt Isaac

Recommendation: This is a new to me author, but I love the bodyguard trope, and as an added bonus, this has a May/December as well.

Gabriel:

I know my priorities. As a hotshot immigration lawyer straight out of the country’s best law school, I have a responsibility to help the worried and the desperate. Nothing is more important than serving my community.

But I’m starting a new job for a billionaire philanthropist who wants to solve homelessness: I don’t have time to think about my love life!

And then there’s Jensen. He’s the billionaire’s bodyguard, a hunky ex-Marine, a hell of a pilot… and yet somehow he instantly understands me, even with the age gap between us.

Jensen:

These aren’t feelings I’ve experienced before… let alone for another man. I’m the guy in the frontlines, prepared to take a bullet for everyone I’m protecting. Yet Gabriel’s got me feeling vulnerable.

He’s kind, genuine and so young. I’m a grizzled pessimist who’s never been so glad to be wrong about people.

If only this handsome idealist knew how hard it is to confront my feelings. And how hard it is to deal with my past…

But I know what I want — and I’ll fight like hell to make sure I get the love I deserve.

From Bodyguard To Boyfriend by debut novelist Wyatt Isaac is a sweet and steamy standalone M/M romance novel with no cliffhanger about opposites who attract — two male protagonists discovering that age isn’t a barrier to a Happily Ever After!

It Was Always You – L.A. Witt

Tyler Schaeffer’s whole world has been yanked out from under him. Job? Gone. Marriage? Kaput. With nothing to keep him in Chicago, he’s headed home to Seattle to lick his wounds and start over. To his surprise, his high school best friend—the man he ghosted five years ago—swoops in to help him pick up the pieces.

Justin Tucker still stings over Tyler vanishing, but when his old friend needs help, saying no is out of the question. Justin’s got a spare room, and he’ll do anything he can to help Tyler get back on his feet.

As the guys find their way back to friendship, Justin’s old feelings find their way back to the surface. He long ago made peace with Tyler being straight, but that doesn’t make twenty years of longing any easier to bear. Now he’s wondering if he can really handle having the man of his dreams living under his roof and out of his reach.

Except maybe Tyler isn’t as far out of reach as either man thinks…in It Was Always You.

Nobody’s Home – Dev Bentham

Second chances can appear where you least expect them.

An artist: You can’t go home again—that was Nick’s motto for the past twenty years. He was a teenager when he left his abusive, mentally ill father back in Lacland, a small town in the northwoods of Wisconsin.

Nick’s made a successful life for himself in New York. Then comes the call—his estranged father has killed himself. Nick flies home to a house crumbling from years of neglect, and one very fat bulldog.

And a veterinarian: Jonas doesn’t love his job enforcing university research protocol. His passion is working with dogs, especially volunteering for his boyfriend’s behavioral studies projects. But when he discovers his so-called “life partner” is messing around, he leaps at a job offer in a small town miles away.

In spite of the grief swirling around Nick and Jonas, their first meeting is electric. But Nick will be in town for only a short time and Jonas is still stinging from the betrayal. The men try to keep their distance, but that’s easier said than done, especially in a small town where misery and hope share the same address.

This poignant story about two mature gay men will warm the hearts of readers who believe happy endings are within anyone’s grasp.

Nobody’s Home is an author’s version of the story, originally released in 2013 from Amber Allure

Barrett & Ivan – A.D. Ellis

Despite the curve balls thrown at him throughout his childhood, Barrett Kenner is now a successful musician. The only thing missing is romance.
Ivan Romanov killed a man to save his sister’s life. Although he has served his time, Ivan’s past left him with baggage far heavier than the meager belongings he carries out of prison.
Barrett clings to the memory of a fervent kiss, a kiss that Ivan tries to pretend meant nothing. When the two men finally accept their feelings for each other, life should be smooth sailing, but the past still lurks in the shadows.
Can Barrett and Ivan protect their love and their lives, or will dangers from long ago be more than they can withstand?

**Barrett & Ivan is a May/December, friends-to-lovers, second chance romance.

Braeton & Drew – A.D. Ellis

Braeton Reed left his small-minded hometown and disapproving family long ago and never looked back.

Andrew Hines has nothing against a solid, loving relationship; he just isn’t sure he’ll ever find one.

Braeton has been told he’s a bit of a diva. Andrew has heard he’s not flashy enough. Can their differences pull them together? Or will these polar opposites allow society to dictate who they are and who they love?

Braeton & Drew is an opposites attract story that will make you think differently about stairwells.

**This is a male/male romance meant for ages 18+ due to adult language and adult situations.**

Thank you for such great recommendations! So frustrating when US and UK prices don’t match up though

That is super frustrating, but there’s little I can do about it. I can’t see prices in other stores because I’m in the US, so it’s not possible for me to check.
